Timur Akhriev was born in Ingushetia, Russia in 1983. He began formal art training in the sixth grade, attending middle and high school at the St. Petersburg's Art School named after the artist, Iagonson. Following graduation, Akhriev moved to the United States to live and work in Tennessee with his artist-parents, father Daud Akhriev and step-mother, Melissa Hefferlin (both represented by Miller Gallery). He enrolled at the University of Tennessee in Chattanooga and received a B.F.A. under the tutelage of Alan White. There he won "Best in Show" in several exhibitions. Akhriev is currently studying in Italy at the Florence Academy of Art where he spends weekends painting landscapes in Tuscany....
