| ROB JEFFERSON ALWAYS on a SUNDAY Opening - Meet the artist Sunday, August 9, 11 AM-3 PM Exhibition of work by Cincinnati artist Rob Jefferson. ARTIST"S STATEMENT “In 1998, I began to create a series of individual paintings which were black and white, small and obsessively detailed, and the polar opposite of anything I had previously done. Intrigued by the potential for storytelling, I have continued to produce these series with no end in sight. The paintings are a collage of images derived from random, historic, or manipulated photographs. The intent is to let each piece meander, assembling visual information and allowing a unique story to evolve. This visual device can be traced to movie stills or even comic books -- a ‘reading’ of a story panel by panel in frozen moments. The paintings are small and intimate, requiring the viewer to step closer. A classical, monochromatic palette lends universal appeal. Although each series means something very specific to me, I offer the viewer the widest possible swath of interpretations as to the interconnectedness of all things.” Please visit Rob Jefferson's page to view existing works.
