Acclaimed as one of the country's leading pastelists, Ron Monsma travels to Miller Gallery from Indiana to demonstrate his skill as a painter and professor of art. Monsma creates lyrical and provocative still lifes, figures, and landscapes in pastel and oil. Rich in color and detail, his paintings are timeless in their formal design. The compositions often present intriguing metaphors which allude to the fragility of the human condition. He is Professor of Art at Indiana University South Bend.
